Designed to incorporate the three hazards monitored and researched at The University of the West Indies Seismic Research Centre, our new logo aims to provide an easily recognizable symbol associated with our position as the official and trusted geologic authority in the English-speaking Eastern Caribbean. Each element is clearly demarcated to ensure clarity and to aid in promoting The UWI-SRC’s additional role as an agency of education and public information. The elements meet to form a circle, illustrating the causative relationship that exists among them.
The new logo forms part of the overall strategic plan of the Centre which is grounded in that of The UWI. Our strategic focus has been reviewed and renewed to better reflect the direction in which we are moving – to monitor, research and provide advice on geo-hazards so as to protect lives and livelihoods in our region. Thus with our new mission, continued commitment to excellence and culture of innovation and improvement, the time is right to renew our branding. As part of this rebranding, our new and improved website will be launched within the next few months to better serve our stakeholders.
